The Kamrup Metro Weightlifting Association is pleased to announce the 53rd Kamrup Metro Inter Club Weightlifting Championship 2026, to be held on 25th July 2026 at Kharghuli Unnayan Samiti, Guwahati-04. The championship, open to Sub-junior, Junior, and Senior Men and Women athletes, will also serve as the official selection trial for the Kamrup Metro Weightlifting Team for the State Championship 2026.
This prestigious championship, now in its 53rd edition, is also designated as the official selection trial for the Kamrup Metro Weightlifting Team for the State Championship 2026 — making it one of the most consequential competitions on the regional calendar this year.
Venue & Organising Authority
The championship will be held at the Kharghuli Unnayan Samiti, Guwahati-04, organised by the Kamrup Metro Weightlifting Association under the authority of the Assam Weightlifting Association and the Indian Weightlifting Federation. All competition rules and procedures will strictly follow IWF regulations.
Who Can Participate
The championship is open to all Sub-junior, Junior, and Senior Men & Women athletes registered under Clubs, Gyms, and Educational Institutions affiliated with the Kamrup Metro Weightlifting Association.

All participating athletes must report for weighing at least 2 hours before the competition starts. Strict adherence to reporting time is mandatory — no athlete will be permitted to compete if they fail to report within the specified window.
Important Guidelines
Age Proof Required: Birth certificate or Aadhaar card photocopy, along with the original, must be produced at the time of weighing.
Costume: Proper weightlifting costume as per IWLF rules is compulsory for all participants, men and women.
Sports List Submission Deadline: 10th July 2026. All Club/Gym/Educational Institution representatives must submit their participants list, along with Coach & Manager names, on or before this date.

₹500 per participant (Five Hundred Rupees only)

Awards & Recognition
The top three finishers in each weight category will be awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals along with Merit Certificates. The coveted title of Best Lifter in each age group — Youth, Junior, and Senior — will be awarded, subject to a minimum participation of 8 lifters per group.
Food & Hospitality
The Kamrup Metro Weightlifting Association will provide breakfast and lunch for all participants on the day of the competition — 25th July 2026.
