The 53rd Kamrup Metro Inter-Club Weightlifting Championship 2026 concluded successfully, bringing together athletes from various clubs in a celebration of strength, discipline, and sportsmanship. Outstanding performers earned the opportunity to represent Kamrup Metropolitan District at the upcoming State Weightlifting Championship, reflecting the continued growth and excellence of weightlifting in the district.

​It was an absolute honor to represent the Kamrup Metro Weightlifting Association and meet with the Hon'ble Cabinet Minister, Sri Biswajit Daimary for Handloom, Textiles & Sericulture, Sports & Youth Welfare, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship, and Indigenous & Tribal Faith & Culture, Government of Assam.

​On behalf of the Association, we had the privilege of felicitating the Hon'ble Minister and engaging in a highly productive discussion regarding the development of weightlifting sports infrastructure and talent in our region.

Talent Hunt Programme for Weightlifting sports at the Kamrup Byam Samiti

The Kamrup Metro Weightlifting Association held a two-day Talent Hunt Programme on 11th and 12th October 2025 at Kamrup Byam Samiti. The event aimed to find young weightlifting talents from schools and colleges. About 40 participants were shortlisted in the first phase for further training and testing.
